Chaitanya Varun

I am senior undergrad at IIT Hyderabad pursuing B.Tech(Hons) in the Department of Electrical Engineering.

I am a person passionate about technology and interested in solving problems and challenges. I am a persistent learner of different things and a collaborative team player in diverse projects. I have worked in varied areas including hardware design, applications of machine learning in RADAR technology, Speech and Image processing, software analytics etc. Inclined towards the Communication and Signal processing, I have inculcated strong mathematical skills and keen interest in applied statistics and machine learning which helped me apply my domain knowledge in other interdisciplinary areas. I try to maintain a rich balance between my academia and applied research in industry.

Presently I am working in the areas of OCT Volume registration methods and robot vision for BIPED robot. Apart from the research, I am also one the associate developer for creating a collaborating platform for GPAI.

I have expreience working with wide range of industries ranging from start-ups (WiSigx5G Testbed IITH) to one of the leading MNC’s (Oracle). I was also fortunate to do a winter internship in DRDO, a national institute for defence research and development.

I have participated in multiple competetions and challenges. Some of my major achievements being :

  1. IEEE SP Cup (first runner up)
  2. Flipkart Grid 3 Hackathon (Finalist)

I have held multiple positions of responsibilities during my college tenure, some of them being:

  1. Co-ordinator for a scitech club called Elektronica.
  2. Sponsorship Co-ordinator for Elan & nVision, annual fest of IITH.

In my free time, I binge movies and TV shows, listen to music or play badminton. Though these are few activities I generally do, I most probably end up sleeping in my leisure!

I am keen follower of start-up culture and an active participant in many such related events. If you are having any idea which you think could be a useful product, how come we did not meet yet?
